Mole Removal Surgery
So Smooth!
Revolutionary Mole Removal and Scar Revision Surgery
No Scars. No Moles. No Problem.
A scar or unsightly mole can draw people’s attention, so much so that they may miss your beautiful eyes or toned abdomen. Scars and moles can be tough to hide. Hair and clothes can only cover so much, and makeup rubs off. Luckily, scar and mole removal is simple, and results in a smooth complexion that allows the real you to shine through.
Scar Removal Done Right.
Scars are as individual as their owners. Your scar may be raised or depressed; overly pale or hyper-pigmented; caused by an accident, by teenage acne, or by surgery (like a C-section or tummy tuck). All of them can be removed for a more polished appearance.
When you choose Dr. Kayem as your scar removal doctor, you’ll get a customized approach to scar revision, which may include one or more of the following treatments:
- Facial Fillers – Can plump up depressed scars
- Microneedling – Especially helpful for acne scars
- Steroid injections – Can soften the look of raised scars or keloids
- Surgical Excision – Still the best option for some scars
The ABCDE’s of Moles
What exactly is a mole? Typically a harmless skin growth, moles may be flat or raised. They can be irregular or symmetrical in shape. Most moles are a shade of brown or tan, but others run toward pink or red. Moles are caused by an overgrowth of pigment- producing cells, and most appear during childhood or adolescence. Adults—especially those with fair skin–may get new moles, often as a result of genetics, ultraviolet radiation exposure, or a weakened immune system. Though most moles are benign, it’s important to watch them for signs of melanoma. The American Cancer Society advises that you use their “ABCDE Rule” when checking your moles. Be on the watch for:
- Asymmetry – One half of the mole appears different than the other half.
- Border – The mole’s edges are blurry, irregular, or jagged.
- Color – Rather than a uniform color, the mole has a blend of colors, or patches of red, white, pink, or blue.
- Diameter – The mole is larger than a pencil eraser, about 6mm or ¼ inch.
- Evolving – The mole alters in shape, size, or color.
Cutting-Edge Mole Removal
When it comes to benign moles, some people love them and even consider them part of their image (think Cindy Crawford). But if you feel that your mole distracts from the real you, Dr. Kayem can remove it—with no cutting, no stitches, and no pain.
Most mole removal treatments involve surgically removing the mole, either cutting or shaving it off. Other popular methods include freezing or “burning off” moles, or applying an acid treatment. Cutting, shaving, freezing, burning, acid—it’s no stretch to imagine the discomfort of these methods. Even worse, these traditional treatments often leave scars.
Dr. Kayem’s revolutionary non-invasive radiofrequency (RF) mole removal treatment painlessly removes moles in just a few minutes, using only a local anesthetic. The radiofrequency waves are delivered through a wire loop, effectively shaving and cauterizing the mole at the same time. The treated area usually forms a mild scab that heals within a few days. This RF mole removal technique leaves a barely visible scar, or none at all. The treatment is performed in just one visit to Dr. Kayem’s Beverly Hills office, and insurance may cover any mole removal deemed medically necessary.
